One of New York’s coldest nights of the season Moncler Grenoble took the stage at the Wollman Rink in Central Park with a tribute to New York. The iconic skating rink, a star in its own right, set the stage for a performance from male and female professional athletes sporting garments from the Grenoble 2012/13 Autumn/Winter collection. Skaters from the Ice Theatre of New York divided into three monochrome teams and performed an impressive synchronized skating act on the ice. The show was choreographed by Luam, who also works with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, and Britney Spears. The Harlem boys choir and Naturally Seven provided the sound track for the evening. Guests Included: Elizabeth Hurley, Margherita Missoni, and Meredith Ostrom, among others.
Moncler Grenoble’s autumn/winter collection 2012/13 celebrates the space-age style of the ‘60s and pays homage to Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.Women’s garments are snug and form a cocoon-like silhouette around the figure. Coats and jackets are designed as protective shells in Naplak, a classic material used for bags in the ‘60s. The color palette is neutral and conjures up a vision of mountains with hues of ice, stone and snow. The must-have look of the season is a rounded shape on top seen in the coats and jackets paired with sleek trousers in stretch fabrics. Alongside the technical materials, the jackets and coats revel in an exuberant showing of fur. For the men’s collection, navy blue, snow white and fire engine red make their return to complement cocoa, anthracite and camel, displaying the meticulous attention that is paid to technical performance.
