Today marks the first full day of fall. Though it may not feel particularly autumnal, we wanted to highlight two of the season’s most important events. With the temperatures expected to cool down this weekend, it certainly will be the perfect weather for both of these fabulous outdoor events!

The Guild of the Chicago Botanic Garden presents its Annual Harvest Ball. The Chicago Botanic Garden in all its fall beauty serves as the backdrop for the Harvest Ball. With 385 acres of public gardens, 23 specialty gardens, three native habitats, and 80 acres of lakes, the Garden offers a unique location for an evening of dinner and dancing.

Last years' Bagpipes and Bonfire
Nothing marks the transition into autumn as Lake Forest Open Lands signature Bagpipes & Bonfire event. This celebration of the harvest season features Scottish Highland athletes, fun activities for children of all ages and a delicious harvest picnic supper. The evening culminates with the spectacular parade of bagpipers on the Middlefork savanna and the lighting of the traditional bonfire at dusk. Sponsored by Sheridan Road.
