NARS: Classic Holiday Looks

November 29th, 2010 by admin

With the holidays rapidly approaching, the pressure is on to plan a perfect gathering, serve up a delicious meal, and find that unique holiday dress. In the midst of all the chaos, however, don’t forget to find the ideal beauty products to complement your many other achievements. This holiday season, impress your guests with a fresh face that’s simple and elegant.

We love Anne Hathaway’s exquisite red carpet look – a simple dusting of NARS’ Lovejoy Blush lends to her classic appearance. Pair it with crimson lipstick for the perfect holiday party look. If you’d rather play up the eyes, try NARS’ Brousse Duo Eyeshadow, as seen on Hilary Duff; finish with a dab of subtle blush and a swipe of nude gloss. With these no-fail looks, your guests will be nearly as impressed by your allure as they are with your cooking.

NARS Lovejoy blush ($26) and Brousse Duo Eyeshadow ($32) are available at Sephora in Northbrook Court. For more information, visit sephora.com.—Jenna Schubert

As you prepare your Thanksgiving meal this week, don’t forget that presentation is everything. Investing in festive tableware is a great decision, but don’t overlook the importance of an impressive condiment tray in your pursuit for remarkable plates, glasses, and bowls.  We love this copper 3-part condiment set – a perfect display for anything from olives and limes to sauces and dressings.  And the best part?  This tray is ideal for every occasion, and it works well in both formal and laid-back settings.

Available for $77.50 at Adesso, Ltd., 600 Central Avenue, in Highland Park. Utensils sold separately. For more information, call 847-433-8525.

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, preparations for holiday gatherings are already underway. This year, impress your guests by serving up the turkey on this delicately detailed blue and white transferware platter. Made with a distinctive tendril pattern, this early 19th century English antique is in mint condition. The vivid colors and intricate design create a regal appearance, making it the perfect serving platter for special occasions. After the holidays, it also doubles as an elegant decorative accent in the dining room. This one-of-a-kind piece, created circa 1820 by an English family known for their pottery-making expertise, adds a sophisticated touch to the home.

Available for $1200 at Knightsbridge Antiques, 928 Green Bay Road, in Winnetka. For more information, call 847-441-5105, or visit knightsbridgeantique.com.—Jenna Schubert
