Beauty & Balance Salon co-owners Kelly and Dawn Stobart welcomed renowned hair stylist Bridget Brager to their Kenilworth salon yesterday. Bridget, who has styled celebrities such as Gwen Stefani and Kim Kardashian, arrived in Chicago for the Beauty & Balance event, during which she taught the stylists how to create a beautiful retro-glam hairdo.
The look was achieved using Oribe–a luxury line of hair care products. Oribe products are sold in 17 salons statewide, and Beauty & Balance is the only North Shore salon to carry the line. One of Bridget’s favorites in the line is the Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray, which can be used to achieve a variety of looks. “I can use it with a curling iron for a glossy set, with a flat iron for sleek straight styles, and most amazingly, I can use it to do a full blowout with amazing sheen and volume,” Bridget says. “I cannot live without this product!”
Since Beauty & Balance salon opened five years ago, it has quickly become a community favorite. The stylists are friendly and professional, and the salon’s chic boutique-like décor gives it a very welcoming vibe. “I cannot say enough good things about this salon,” Bridget said. The salon also recently introduced eyelash extensions to its list of services, after Kelly and Dawn realized that many North Shore women were traveling to the city for similar services. The lashes come in three styles, ranging from subtle to dramatic, and are perfect for special occasions or vacations.
